caveman vs. vanman

Caveman vs. Vanman

I came across these two articles… Which is more ascetic?  I think I have secret desire to live as the vanman, but dang, those cavemen are pretty cool, i enjoy meat, and I am connected to them by a friend’s friend’s office mate’s roommate.

fav caveman quotes:

“The men sealed their friendship with what both described as a bare-chested — and in Mr. Le Corre’s case, barefoot — run across the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges on a frigid night. “

“They regularly grumble about vegans, whom they regard as a misguided, rival tribe.”

“His workouts include scooting around the underbrush on all fours, leaping between boulders, playing catch with stones, and other activities at which he believes early man excelled. These are the ‘primal, essential skills that I believe everyone should have.'”

In investigating all this stuff, I am beginning to wonder if a girl is at all capable of such asceticism without only becoming a nun… admittedly, I have also considered the convent, but only to start an order of well-educated, Jesuit-like, surfer nuns.

My buddy, Dave, said that starting an order is the best route to sainthood… but I still gotta work on that whole “being Catholic” thing.
